Onsor Announces Seizure-Detecting Wearable, Powered by BrainChip’s Akida Technology

Ultra-low-power neuromorphic processing specialist BrainChip has announced that its Akida hardware is to power a wearable smart glasses device from Onsor capable of predicting epileptic seizures before they happen.

“At Onsor, we believe technology should empower people, not just assist them. That’s why we set out to create something truly life changing. A device that predicts seizures before they happen using AI,” Onsor’s chief executive officer Maadh Al Hinaai claims. “By integrating BrainChip’s Akida technology, we’re giving people real-time alerts, the power to take control, and the freedom to live with confidence. Great partnerships create breakthroughs.”

“By integrating BrainChip’s Akida technology,” Al Hinaai adds, “we’re pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in AI and IoT. This collaboration isn’t just about technology, it’s about creating real-world solutions, like our neuromorphic seizure prediction glasses, that make a meaningful impact.”

Onsor’s glasses use sensors that push against the wearer’s temples, readings from which are fed into a BrainChip Akida AKD1500 neuromorphic processor — a device that uses spiking neural networks, inspired by the human brain, to handle machine learning workloads at a far higher power efficiency than traditional accelerators. The result: the glasses operate entirely locally, yet provide what Onsor and BrainChip claims is “all day” battery life — without relying on a wire connection to a neck- or waist-worn external battery pack.

“Wearable devices such as these are only possible due to the innovation of Akida’s neuromorphic approach to produce ultra-low power processing and its ability to optimize the development and deployment of AI applications for the edge,” says BrainChip chief executive officer Sean Hehir. “We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Onsor to advance the capabilities of this revolutionary product throughout its development and introduction into the market.”

We do not take money from any political parties. We do not endorse India’s ruling party BJP and India’s Prime Minister’s position on keeping India a closed market, ambiguous economy, and keeping India as a heavy taxing country so no one from outside world wants to do business here. It’s like denying India its right in the world…
BJP Government also discourages small and local media, coming down on them heavily regulating and using lawful actions along with soft threats from demented bureaucrat extremists and other extremist groups. On one hand, the mainstream media in India is getting rich and on other hand the local small media is being strangulated. So if not automated or required, We do not willfully publish any content from India or pertaining to that country.
