Oscar-Winning Film ‘I’m Still Here’ Gets Digital Streaming Date

The historical docudrama I’m Still Here — the winner of the Best International Feature Film Oscar at the 97th Academy Awards — is coming soon to digital streaming.

Fernanda Torres earned a Best Actress Oscar nomination for I’m Still Here, while the film was also nominated for Best Picture. Director Walter Salles accepted the Oscar for Best International Feature Film on behalf of I’m Still Here, which was Brazil’s official entry in the international film category at the 97th Academy Awards.

I’m Still Here opened in limited release on Jan. 17. The official summary for I’m Still Here, which begins in 1971, reads, “Brazil faces the tightening grip of a military dictatorship. Eunice Paiva, a mother of five children is forced to reinvent herself after her family suffers a violent and arbitrary act by the government.

“The film is based on Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s biographical book and tells the true story that helped reconstruct an important part of Brazil’s hidden history.”

Torres stars as Eunice Paiva, while her real-life mother — Brazilian film legend Fernanda Montenegro — stars as the older version of Eunice. Selton Mello also stars as Eunice’s husband, Rubens Paiva.

According to When to Stream, I’m Still Here is expected to arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, March 11. While When to Stream is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, the streaming tracker noted that I’m Still Here’s studio Sony Pictures Classics has not announced or confirmed the PVOD release date of the film and it is subject to change.

I’m Still Here will be available for purchase on a variety of digital platforms including AppleTV, Fandango at Home and Prime Video.

Currently, Prime Video has I’m Still Here listed for pre-order for $24.99, which is the film’s digital purchase price. If the film is made available for digital rental, rental prices are typically $5 less than digital purchase prices, so viewers can expect to rent I’m Still Here for $19.99.

According to The Numbers, I’m Still Here has earned $5.5 million domestically and $23 million internationally for a worldwide box office tally of $28.5 million to date.

Per The Playlist, I’m Still Here had a production budget of $1.48 million before prints and advertising costs.

Rotten Tomatoes critics gave I’m Still Here a 97% “fresh” rating based on 179 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, “Carried along by Fernanda Torres’ superb performance, I’m Still Here poignantly explores a nation’s upheaval through one family’s search for answers.”

Rated PG-13, I’m Still Here is expected to arrive on PVOD on Tuesday.
