WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington film and art industry is remembering Francine DeCoursey, who died last week.
She died on February 18th after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
DeCoursey spent decades helping build up and support Wilmington’s film industry.
She was the owner of On Location Production Services.
She worked on many films, including “Stuck in Love” starring Jennifer Connelly and “Sleeping with the Enemy” with Julia Roberts.
Shane Fernando is the chief executive director of Thalian Hall Center for the Performing Arts.
He said DeCoursey’s impact will be felt throughout Wilmington’s film industry for years to come.
“The work that Francine did to lift people, to develop skill sets that she saw in people in our arts community and in our film community,” Fernando said. “It’s going to impact generations. She had an incredible love for this community.”
A living celebration of life was held for DeCoursey two days before she passed away.
She was 74 years old.
