Well, Justin Trudeau is breaking the internet – one last time!
The outgoing Prime Minister of Canada is not a novice to this feat; however, as the transition of power begins – Trudeau gave the internet one more instance to cherish one of the most remarkable and popular Prime Ministers that he has been.

What happened?

On Monday, Trudeau met with the new Liberal leader and the Prime Minister-designate Mark Carney to start the transition of power after Carney’s landslide win at the Sunday party election. After the meeting Carney told reporters on Parliament Hill that the transition is expected to be “seamless” and “quick.” Trudeau reportedly has started the process to wind down his time in government.
Meanwhile, a Reuters photographer clicked a picture of Trudeau carrying his House of Commons chair out of Parliament Hill, while having his tongue out with a cheeky expression on his face. The image quickly gained traction on social media, with many praising his sense of humour.

While everybody praised Carlos Osorio, the Reuters photographer for clicking such a candid photo of one of Canada’s most prominent Prime Ministers, the netizens did not forget to appreciate Trudeau’s humorous side as he prepares to take leave as PM.
While one internet user tagged the photo as “Cutest picture”, another said, “He’s probably relieved to be done with this job.” Another internet user commented, “Justin Trudeau looks really happy , I’m going to miss him but he deserves time with his family now,” while someone else wrote, “I am Very Happy he still has a sense of humor. I Love it ! :-).”
However, some netizens did not let go of this opportunity to criticize the outgoing PM as well. While one person wrote, “It’s not his chair it’s the taxpayers he is a thief,” another added, “That is likely the first manual labour that manchild has done in his professional life.”

Who is Justin Trudeau?

The son of former Prime Minister Pierre James Trudeau and a remarkable Prime Minister himself, Justin Pierre James Trudeau has been the 23rd and current prime minister of Canada since 2015. He was the leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2013 to 2025 and has served as a member of Parliament (MP) for Papineau since 2008. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, as the eldest son of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, Justin attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from McGill University and a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of British Columbia. After graduating, he taught at the secondary school level in Vancouver before returning to Montreal in 2002 to further his studies. He was chair for the youth charity Katimavik and director of the not-for-profit Canadian Avalanche Association. In 2006, he was appointed as chair of the Liberal Party’s Task Force on Youth Renewal. In the 2008 federal election, he was elected to represent the riding of Papineau in the House of Commons.

He was the Liberal Party’s Official Opposition critic for youth and multiculturalism in 2009; in 2010, he became the critic for citizenship and immigration. In 2011, he was appointed as a critic for secondary education and sport. In 2013, Trudeau was elected as the leader of the Liberal Party and led the party to a majority government in the 2015 federal election. He became the second-youngest prime minister in Canadian history and the first to be the child of a previous prime minister.
