BRUTAL! CNN Changes Bogus Fact Check After Saying “Trump Falsely Claimed” That Government is Spending “$8 Million for Making Mice Transgender After White House Provides Receipts | The Gateway Pundit

A CNN fact-check of President Trump’s speech to a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, claiming that the President made up a finding that $8 million was spent to give mice transgender treatments, has been retracted after the White House provided proof of the claim.

The dishonest fact-checkers got caught lying again.

President Trump, while delivering his Joint Address to Congress on Tuesday, outlined some examples of waste fraud and abuse discovered by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), including “$8 million for making mice transgender.”

“We found hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud, and we’ve taken back the money and reduced our debt to fight inflation and other things,” President Trump told the nation.

CNN was quick to fact-check the President’s claim about transgender mice, claiming, “Trump falsely claimed that the Department of Government Efficiency identified government spending of “$8 million for making mice transgender.”

However, after the White House provided the receipts showing that $8.3 million dollars was reportedly provided for “studies that involve mice receiving treatments that can be used in gender-affirming health care.”

Still, CNN claims that the statement lacks context because “the studies were meant to figure out how these treatments might affect the health of humans who take them, not for the purpose of making mice transgender.” What a load.

An earlier version of this item incorrectly characterized as false Trump’s claim about federal money being spent for “making mice transgender.” The article has been updated with context about the spending, which was for research studies on the potential human health impacts of treatments used in gender-affirming care,” reads a footnote at the bottom of the edited fact check.
