China Classification Society (CCS) Completed the Classification Survey of the First Wind Power-fishery Integrated Platform “Fuxi No.1” in China
Recently, China Classification Society (CCS) completed the construction survey of the deep-sea fishery aquaculture platform “Fuxi No.1”, and issued the first domestic classification certificate for wind power-fishery integrated platform.
“Fuxi No.1” was built by Jiangmen Xinhui Base of Guangzhou Salvage Bureau, owned by CGN Shanwei New Energy Co., Ltd., and designed by China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. It is the world’s largest single wind power-fishery integrated net cage platform, as well as China’s first jacket fixed aquaculture platform classified by CCS.
“Fuxi No.1” , 70m long, 35m wide and having an aquaculture water of about 63,000m3, is located in the Houhu Wind Power Plant of CGN Shanwei New Energy Co., Ltd. It adopts a truss jacket structure of 6 piles + inclined strut + double upper block, and is designed to withstand a super typhoon of Level 17. Traditional wind farms occupy a large water area, but only utilize the wind resources above the sea surface. To maximize resource utilization, “Fuxi No.1” is not only installed with wind turbines for wind power generation, but also installed with solar panels to meet the power demand of the entire platform based on wind turbines and solar energy; at the same time, “Fuxi No.1” has also adopted a wind power-fishery integration model, that is, wind turbines are installed on the upper part of the platform for power generation, and the lower water body is used for fishery aquaculture to achieve the development model of “offshore wind power + marine ranching”.
Aquaculture Outpaces Wild Catch in China’s Fisheries
During the construction process, CCS Zhuhai Branch has upheld providing advanced services and dispatched technical experts to fully communicate and exchange possible key and difficult points (such as TKY node welding, weld toe polishing, NDT, offshore installation, etc.) with the construction plant in advance, so as to ensure successful construction of the project. CCS Zhuhai Branch has also actively played a bridging role, actively communicated with the designer and the owner, and ultimately successfully completed the handling of all technical problems.
At present, the marine new economy industry represented by fishery aquaculture facilities is developing vigorously in the Pearl River Delta region. In the future, CCS will continue to provide high-quality services to the owners, design units, and construction plants, and contribute ship survey strength to the high-quality development of marine economy and building a “Maritime New Guangdong”.
