Plans approved for massive €12.6m motor showroom in Kildare

Plans have been approved for a massive €12.6m motor showroom development in Kildare.

The development, for Fitzpatrick’s Garage Limited, will be located at lands bounded by the M7 / M7 Junction no. 13 to the north; the R415 (Nurney Road) to the east; Junction 13 service station to the south; and currently undeveloped lands, to the west of Greyabbey (townland), Kildare W34 TV79, Co. Kildare.

According to Construction Information Services, (CIS), the development includes the provision of three motor showrooms in two buildings, and a valeting and wash building.

This is to be comprised of:

‘Building ‘A’: a single-storey motor sales showroom and service workshop facility with associated ancillary spaces, with a total gross floor area of 1,567 sq.m. (maximum height of c. 8m);

‘Building ‘B’: a single storey motor sales showrooms (with mezzanines) and service workshop facility with associated ancillary spaces, with a total gross floor area of 2,326 sq.m. (maximum height of c. 8m); and

‘Building ‘C’: a single-storey motor valeting and wash facility, solely for use as part of the vehicle serving business, with a total gross floor area of 375 sq.m. (maximum height of c. 5m).
The development will also have illuminated signage on the building facades; four free-standing double-sided illuminated pylon sign; and three flag poles with double-sided flags.

There will also be revisions to the existing site entrance, customer and staff car parking; bicycle parking; new and used vehicle display parking; vehicle storage area and service parking; and electric vehicle charging points.

Also included will be associated lighting; hard and soft landscaping including the provision of boundary treatments, gates, fencing, walls and bollards; suds measures; associated site servicing (foul and surface water drainage and water supply); and all other site excavation and development works above and below ground.

The architects in charge of the project are EMD Architects.
