President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron met at the White House on Monday to address ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the Ukraine-Russia conflict, which has surpassed its third year. The leaders discussed potential pathways to peace, NATO funding obligations, and the role of European nations in securing Ukraine’s future stability.

During the press conference, Trump reiterated his longstanding position that the war would have been avoided had he remained in office during its outbreak. “This war should have never started, and it certainly would not have happened under my administration,” Trump said. He emphasized the need for a resolution that prevents further loss of life and restores regional stability, adding, “We are making great progress toward peace, and I believe we can bring this to an end very soon.”

Macron underscored Europe’s commitment to Ukraine, refuting claims that European nations had not contributed significantly to the war effort. “We have provided essential military, financial, and humanitarian aid, and we will continue to do so,” Macron stated. He further indicated that European nations are prepared to offer security guarantees for Ukraine as part of any future peace agreement, potentially involving a multinational force to deter future aggression.

Trump acknowledged that the United States has provided substantial financial assistance to Ukraine and confirmed that negotiations are in the “final stages” of securing a minerals deal that would grant the U.S. access to Ukraine’s rare earth resources. “We are looking to secure what we have given them with their rare earths and other critical materials,” Trump said, referencing his recent remarks that such an agreement could provide America with “like $50 billion worth of rare earths” as part of repayment. Ukrainian officials, including Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna, have affirmed that discussions are nearing completion, stating, “We are committed to finalizing this swiftly” in a social media post. Macron confirmed that he and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer coordinated messaging ahead of his visit, with both leaders aligned in their approach to securing long-term peace in Ukraine.

The press conference also touched on NATO funding, with Trump reiterating his calls for European nations to increase their defense contributions. “The United States has carried an unfair burden for too long, and it is time for our allies to step up,” he said. Macron responded by emphasizing that Europe is making strides toward greater military self-sufficiency, stating, “We are investing in our defense and standing up to threats together.”

As discussions continue, both leaders expressed optimism about reaching a comprehensive agreement that includes security guarantees and a clear path toward de-escalation. “Peace is achievable, but it requires decisive action from all parties involved,” Macron concluded.

The meeting marked a significant step in ongoing negotiations, with further diplomatic engagements expected in the coming weeks to solidify the terms of an agreement.

We do not take money from any political parties. We do not endorse India’s ruling party BJP and India’s Prime Minister’s position on keeping India a closed market, ambiguous economy, and keeping India as a heavy taxing country so no one from outside world wants to do business here. It’s like denying India its right in the world…
BJP Government also discourages small and local media, coming down on them heavily regulating and using lawful actions along with soft threats from demented bureaucrat extremists and other extremist groups. On one hand, the mainstream media in India is getting rich and on other hand the local small media is being strangulated.
