The White House shared photos of President Donald Trump looking on as US military forces struck Houthi rebel targets in Yemen in what was a casual Saturday for the commander-in-chief.
Trump had announced the strikes earlier in the day in a post on Truth Social. The president said the bombings were retaliation for the Houthis targeting American vessels in the Red Sea.
The verified White House X account shared photos of Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz all being briefed on the strikes.
Trump was wearing one of his trademark golf shirts and a signed MAGA hat while Rubio was dressed in business casual.
Waltz was wearing a collared shirt and a suit jacket but was without a tie.

The White House commented, “President Trump is taking action against the Houthis to defend US shipping assets and deter terrorist threats. For too long American economic & nationalism threats have been under assault by the Houthis. Not under this presidency.”
Trump announced the strikes in Yemen and also included a warning to Iran not to arm proxies such as the Houthis for strikes against American and Israeli interests.
“Today, I have ordered the United States Military to launch decisive and powerful Military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen,” Trump said on social media. “They have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones.” Trump added:
To all Houthi terrorists, YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!
To Iran: Support for the Houthi terrorists must end IMMEDIATELY! Do NOT threaten the American People, their President, who has received one of the largest mandates in Presidential History, or Worldwide shipping lanes. If you do, BEWARE, because America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it!
