The Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration has signed a memorandum with a Turkish company that plans to implement a large-scale project to build a wind power plant in the region.
This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Bunetchko.
“This will be another important step towards forming a resilient energy system in the region. Therefore, the development of alternative energy sources is crucial for our communities,” emphasized Bunetchko.
He noted that investors from Turkey already have experience in the renewable energy sector in Ukraine, so scaling up the business can happen as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Thanks to the new power plant, the alternative energy capacity of the Zhytomyr region could increase by an additional 100-200 MW of wind generation, and local budgets will receive steady additional income from the operation of the enterprise and new jobs. Bunetchko reported that a set of measures to determine wind flows for the future installation of towers is currently planned.
The head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration did not mention the name of the company, but in October 2024, he mentioned that the Turkish company “Atlas Global Energy” plans to build new wind energy capacities in the region.
